Nashville’s young and adept players, Promised Land Sound have taken Music City by storm. They released their first self-titled, full length album via Paradise of Bachelors (Steve Gunn, Hiss Golden Messenger) and attracted the admiration of esteemed fellow Nashvillains like guitar wizard William Tyler, who guests on the record, and Jack White, whose Third Man Records released a live Promised Land Sound seven-inch, deeming them “one of our favorite local bands” and describing them thusly: “They’re all youthful scruff and bluff, and they crank out tunes that would be right at home in Link Wray’s 3 Track Shack or hanging with the specters of long lost 45s that haunt Nashville’s overflowing legend-filled cemeteries.”
They’ve made way this year playing with Drive By Truckers, Natural Child, Futurebirds, The Apache Relay, and head out with Angel Olsen today.
