Wisconsin’s PHOX have shared a second track off their self-titled debut (June 24, Partisan Records) called “1936.”  The beautiful, bouncy, and harmony-filled track is led by the warm, sultry vocals of frontwoman (and star-in-the-making) Monica Martin, while masterful multi-instrumentalists Matthew Holmen, Jason Krunnfusz, Matteo Roberts, Zach Johnston, and David Roberts contribute their signature orchestral-pop stylings.
Having already released their debut single “Slow Motion” in early March (getting 5-7 spins a day at Sirius XMU, and climbing the College, Non-Comm and Commercial Triple A charts) the release of a second track provides the listener with a peek inside the sextet’s brilliant debut.
Mixed by Michael Brauer at Electric Lady in NYC, their debut album is a school of simple folk-pop songs swimming amidst a chaotic eddy of rock, psychedelia, and soul.  The band leaves on release day for a six-week U.S. tour, which is selling quickly and includes a stop at Newport Folk Festival.
