Motion City Soundtrack share video for "Lose Control," tour (2015)

Motion City Soundtrack has shared their new video for “Lose Control” at the AV Club. The song is off the band’s sixth studio album, Panic Stations, out September 18 via Epitaph.
The video for “Lose Control” was directed by Dan Huiting (Bon Iver, Sylvan Esso, Colin Stetson) and features singer Justin Pierre discovering his supernatural power to kill everything he touches.
Director Dan Huiting states:   When I first heard “Lose Control”, I thought of a sort of “super hero” origin story, where a person learns they have a superpower. Only for Justin, he learns he can kill things that he touches. We also thought it would be cool to incorporate a woman that he meets that can reverse all the things he’s killed. Some of the narrative elements are a bit opaque because we didn’t want to just explain everything. It was really nice to collaborate with Justin on this, who has a really good sensibility about filmmaking in general.
Singer Justin Pierre expands:   “Dan Huiting has been doing great work for as far back as I can remember. It was a riot to work with him and his crew. Everyone worked hard AND played hard. I nearly broke my ankle running up and down the street with Emily but it was absolutely worth it. I rate this experience 5 out 5 stars. Would highly recommend.”

Panic Stations, was named after nautical structures that act as warning posts in the oceans. Many of the songs reference water and the ocean, and there is an overarching idea of letting go and not being immobilized by your own thoughts. The new material was recorded live in June of 2014 and was produced by John Agnello at Seedy Underbelly North (formerly known as Pachyderm Studios) in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.   Pre-order Panic Stations on CD and vinyl at found.ee/MCSPanicStationsStore or at iTunes http://found.ee/MCSPanicStations.
