Flannelgraph Records put out a benefit holiday record every year, and ALL THE PROCEEDS GO TO GOOD CAUSES. This year’s comp, The Holidays Don’t Have To Be So Rotten: Volume Three, benefits Middle Way House in Bloomington, IN (middlewayhouse.org)—all of the money raised will be used to buy holiday gifts for children currently staying with their mothers at the facility. What a fantastic cause.
What else is fantastic is THE COMP ITSELF. From the label:
“The Holidays Don’t Have To Be So Rotten: Volume Three is perhaps the most ambitious and exciting collection of new instrumental Christmas music ever assembled! Clocking in at over two hours, this is the culmination of lots of hard work from 34 really great bands. The Flannelgraph Records small galaxy of stars are joined by friends old and new like Loren Connors, Advance Base, DM Stith, Candy Claws, and a host of others.”
In addition to its digital release, the album will be released physically as a holiday card w/download code featuring Gavin Smith’s cover artwork.
