In support of their debut Dragon Mouth EP, a densely layered, genre-defying statement released last April on The Mylene Sheath, Seattle’s female-fronted, all-star packed, Seattle post-rock troupe Dust Moth is setting out on their first proper set of U.S. tour dates, accompanying friends and experimental metal titans Kayo Dot.
Featuring members who have spent the majority of their careers in celebrated independent acts such as Botch, These Arms Are Snakes, Minus The Bear, Shift and Undertow, as well as critically acclaimed newcomers ÆGES, XVIII Eyes, GIZA and Narrows, Dust Mothkicked off their run of dates in San Francisco this week, with appearances in LA, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Salt Lake City and more to follow. This past weekend, the band performed live on on KEXP’s Audioasis and will be the spotlighted again today as part of the station’s ongoing “Song of the Day” spotlight.
Dragon Mouth was produced, recorded, and mixed by Matt Bayles, who is also a full time member of the band (keys). His resume is no secret, and includes legendary bands such as Isis, Mastodon, Botch, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and many more. It was then sent off to be mastered by Chris Common (Palms, Pelican, The Sword).
