D. Charles Speer & the Helix are set to release Doubled Exposure, the Brooklyn band’s most diverse and exploratory LP of raw country rock yet, on February 25. This morning the Utne Reader premiered “Wallwalker,” the album’s spirited opener. “Wallwalker” is an uptempo jaunt, betraying Speer’s Southern roots with a thick, baritone drawl and flourishes of honky-tonk piano (courtesy of Hans Chew).
