Cloakroom share "Asymmetrical"
Cloakroom are sharing “Asymmetrical,” their latest genre defying single from the band’s sophomore LP, Further Out via AV Club. Set for release January 20 on Run For Cover Records, the Northwestern Indiana based trio are blurring the lines between brawny shoegaze, soaring space rock, introspective slowcore, and midwestern post-hardcore. Dreary vocals and slow building riffs collide with dense rhythms and eventual waves of distortion, offering a stellar release to “Asymmetrical’s” growing tension.
AV Club noted the “all-analog approach reflects both Cloakroom’s influences and the band’s otherworldly ambitions” while adding “the song proves that Cloakroom can take all these disparate influences and turn them into a sound wholly its own”.
