Scottish trio CHVRCHES released their hugely anticipated new album, Every Open Eye, on Glassnote Records. NPR streamed the album this week, saying this about their sophomore effort: “Every Open Eye offers no apologies, no caveats, no halfway measures. Chvrches’ disco ball is tiled with galvanized steel.”
Currently on the cover of Under The Radar and Time Out New York, the band’s new album continues to collect critical acclaim. Billboard‘s headline of their four star review was “Before 1989, There Was CHVRCHES,” Stereogum named it their Album of the Week, Spin reviewed that “CHVRCHES aim for nothing less than maximum forward impact at all times,” and AV Club gave the record an “A” stating “Chvrches has yet to make a misstep.”
Oh, and to top it all off, did you hear their recent cover of Justin Bieber’s, “What Do You Mean”? Even the popstar was impressed.
