You can now watch Avi Buffalo’s official video for “So What,” a standout from his highly-anticipated second album, At Best Cuckold.  The new visual was directed by Jon Jon Agustavo and follows bandleader Avi-Zahner-Isenberg throughout a surreal daydream.
Pitchfork, who premiered the video yesterday in an interview with Avi, had this to say about the song and At Best Cuckold: “The song was a sweet surprise, as is their forthcoming album…which infuses a dreamy 1960s rock sound with youthful ambition, evoking the past with a touch of dread. Nimble guitar solos flower from the mix and forlorn piano lines tug heartstrings while Zahner-Isenberg’s tender, breathy voice describes a world of demure emotions and generational anxieties (see “Update” feature July 16th).
Avi Buffalo will release At Best Cuckold on CD / LP / DL September 8 in Europe and September 9 in North America via Sub Pop. The album is the long-awaited follow up the the band’s critically acclaimed self-titled debut, and features the aforementioned “So What,” along with “Memories of You,” and “Think It’s Gonna Happen Again.”
