Today Is The Day has become legendary within independent metal and in music in general so it comes as no surprise to find that The Man Who Loves To Hurt Himself, a documentary about singer/guitarist Steve Austin will see official release later this month on August 28, 2018.
Spanning the course of two decades of noisy intricacy with feedback-laden experimentation within the confines of 11 albums and a multitude of live recordings, singles and the like, Austin has shared a plethora of ideas and imagery through his music. With a cast of revolving musicians, since the debuting with 2003’s highly evolved Supernova (Amphetamine Reptile), he set the stage for a career-defining moment: Could he possibly push the musical boundaries farther? The answer is simply, yes.
The Man Who Loves To Hurt Himself isn’t your typical music documentary, but a film that focuses on the story of Austin himself, and what it means to express yourself on an existential level no matter what the cost. The DVD will be out on Gravitas Ventures as Steve Austin continues to tour through the end of the month with Today Is The Day. Dates are listed below.
