Video Premiere: Native American Emcee Artson Debuts "Brave Star"

Straight out of the deserts of El Paso, Artson is set to drop his new album Brave Star on April 20, 2018. The new album’s cover art is an ode to the Mos Def/Talib Kweli artwork for Black Star, the seminal album released 20 years ago. Based on the artwork alone, Artson isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel but pay homage to the artists that came before. That’s not to say the rapper that represents the Indigenous People of the North American continent doesn’t bring anything to the table. The man has skills that can’t be denied. The new album features several other renowned Native American emcees, including RedCloud, Quese IMC, Def-i and Wake Self. It takes you on a sonic journey, showcasing incredible lyricism, diversity, and perspective.
In anticipation of the new album, Artson premieres his new video for the title track. It’s a clever visual which gives listeners, and viewers, a look into his own dreams of rocking the mic and rocking the stage. The old B-boy perspective is in full effect.
