The Vampire Diaries star Michael Malarkey tackles the introverted life of an actor on new track, “Captain Solitaire.” It seems to be a subjet Malarkey knows well as a member of the television series, as well as starring alongside 50 Cents in The Oath. While he’s self-described as Neuva-Americana poetry, Malarkey’s Nick Cave-inspired baritone vocals are also reminiscent of Mark Lanegan, while musically some might find familiarity with another actor/musician Kris Kristofferson. The single is the title track off Malarkey’s new Captain Solitaire E.P. which is set for release on May 23rd.
