Australia’s Tropical Fuck Storm – comprised of Gareth Liddiard and Fiona Kitschin (The Drones), Erica Dunn, and Lauren Hammel – release their “Suburbiopia” b/w “This Perfect Day” 7” via Joyful Noise Recordings. They present its caustic B-side, “This Perfect Day,” which features lead vocals from Amyl and the Sniffers’ Amy Taylor  &  Surfbort’s Sean Powell on drums. The track is a cover of the 1977 original by punk legends The Saints.
 
“Amy and Sean were hangin’ out at TFS HQ and Hammer was stuck up in New South Wales because of the fires. Sean jumped on drums and Amy grabbed a mic and we banged out our fave Saints tune for fun,” says the band. “Amy named the band Sniff Surf Storm!”
 
The 7” marks the first release since 2019’s Braindrops, “a sped-up timeline of rising sea levels and melting glaciers set to long-lost field recordings of maximalist noise-rock from the Outback” (Paste). The 7” was initially supposed to be released in the midst of their North American tour, which is now postponed. Stay tuned for updates on the rescheduled dates.
