The Album Leaf Shares “Falling” Feat. Maiah Manser

Prolific Los Angeles-based electronic artist The Album Leaf shares a breathtaking new song, “Falling,”  featuring noir-pop singer-songwriter Maiah Manser. Pillowy synth arpeggios underpin Manser’s angelic vocal melodies that expand into magnetic resonance. Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Aaron Shaw also contributed to the song. Shaw is known for his work in the West Coast jazz scene and for collaborations with Andre 3000 and Carlos Niño, among others. The resulting production on “Falling” is hypnotic, celestial, and sparse, with a feeling of weightlessness that permeates throughout.

The Album Leaf’s Jimmy LaValle shares: “I wrote Falling years ago and always imagined a dreamy vocal living inside it. When I was introduced to Maiah, I was struck by how powerful and emotional her voice is, and we both wanted to lean into an ethereal, ambient dreamscape that builds into a choir. From a production standpoint, I really leaned into the ambiance, creating a bed of texture that supports the arpeggio and gives the whole track a floating, immersive feeling. She completely brought that vision to life. I then invited Aaron Shaw, whom I worked with on my Blast EP, to add subtle flutes to enhance the atmosphere, and together they took the track somewhere truly beautiful.”
