Superchunk—Mac McCaughan, Laura Ballance, Jim Wilbur, and Laura King—are thrilled to share their brand-new single “Bruised Lung” which features labelmate Rosali! In addition, the band will tour the U.S. this fall, with Jason Narducy on bass for their September dates and Betsy Wright taking those reins in October. 

Nothing hits like the first Superchunk single of the year, and “Bruised Lung”— the second new song they’ve shared since the release of Misfits & Mistakes: Singles, B-sides & Strays 2007–2023—is particularly charged, a muscular classic crackling with the otherworldly energy of Rosali Middleman’s concluding guitar solo.

“A song about being disoriented and sleepless and not being able to explain why. Like a hangover but not from drinking. (You look normal on the outside.) Rosali came into the studio to add some woozy shredding and great harmonies.”
