It hasn’t been long since we last heard from Nashville’s Spoken Nerd, who has kept busy delivering track after track of music inspired by a variety of films over the past year and a half or so. Cincinnati producer Juan Cosby has also had his hands full, delivering a stellar album earlier this year in Quantum Foam, which Spoken Nerd has also appeared on. It would make sense the two artists would at some point find a musical meeting ground for a collaborative effort. It happened. The two are set to release the new album Grapes (Audio Recon), which is expected to drop on October 8, 2021. The new 13-track album features a few friends as well like, E-Turn, MC Homeless, Darko The Super, Isaac Stinson, and Out Of Place.
To kick things off, the dynamic duo shares the first single off the album, “Bad Coffee” and it’s what we might expect with Spoken Nerd’s direct lyricism and Cosby’s catchy melodies & rhythm. Spoken Nerd does offer, “I wrote Bad Coffee when I was hungover” so it makes sense to see the bearded rapper capturing the moment in his photo.
