Soul Asylum, the mythic garage rockers who helped shape the newly emerging contours of college radio alt-rock in the ’80s before becoming Grammy-winning multi-platinum superstars in the ’90s, have added an additional three weeks to their North American tour in support of their new album Change Of Fortune recently released on Entertainment One Music (eOne Music.)
In addition to headlining dates, Soul Asylum will join The English Beat for a 5-week tour kicking off in Minnesota on June 18th. Tour dates below.
Change Of Fortune embodies the band’s trademark balance of rocking abandon, infectious melodic craft and raw-nerved emotional depth. New songs “Supersonic” and “Doomsday” are just two of the new Dave Pirner songs that showcase the strength and versatility of his songwriting and pack the familiar sonic and emotional punch, while carrying a hard-won sense of survival and perseverance that honors Soul Asylum’s storied history while pointing towards the future.
From teenage garage band to indie icons on the cover of the Rolling Stone, from Twin Tone to the majors, from 1984’s Say What You Will Clarence…Karl Sold The Truck to winning 1994’s Best Song Grammy for “Runaway Train,” Soul Asylum lives up to its reputation as a great American rock band who continue to produce heartfelt and passionate rock n’ roll.
Stay tuned for more news including an international tour happening this fall.
