Stu Dicious is not shy about his love for the lovely ladies or how much the lovely ladies love him. The self-proclaimed recipient of the “Mister Hot” award teamed up in the studio with Salim Nourallah (producer Old 97s, Nicholas Altobelli, The Damnwells, Rhett Miller) last year to capture the sweet spot between lothario and indomitable, talented songwriter.
Originally from Lufkin, Texas, Stu got his first guitar at fifteen and was obsessed with the Beach Boys, The Beatles and The Sex Pistols. Since then he’s been on a mission to write pop songs you hear once while never forgetting his punk roots.
Today, Ghettoblaster is pleased to premiere Stu Dicious’ “Another Day, Another Kick in the Nuts,” a slice of lo-fi pop wizardry that harkens to Men Without Hats and Jonathan Richman. When asked about the title, Stu says wryly, “Unfortunately, that’s the story of my life.”
The single sees release on February 22 via Palo Santo (Xuan, Travoltas, Broken Baby, etc). Stu Dicious will be playing The Travoltas Record Release Show (with Xuan, as well) in Dallas, Texas, on Feb 23 at Sons of Hermann Hall.
