New Orleans indie-pop quintet Mahayla has finished recording Electricspaceagesweetheart, their second album in nearly fourteen years, after taking a long pause to pursue side projects and answer some burning existential questions.
They’re back to creative form with “Just Call,” which brings to mind ’90s alternative/DIY stalwarts the Lemonheads, Jawbreaker and Superchunk, in varying doses. And who can resist that male/female vocal interplay?
