Calgary-born, now Montreal-based HERO is anindie-electronic tour de force who is debuting his new single, “Stay The Night” today via Ghettoblaster Magazine (see below). “Stay The Night,” which HERO describes as “thesoundtrack to a drunk dial,” is a moody, disco-tinged taste of hiscinematic Dirty Work EP, out January 10, 2019 on Fool’s Gold Records. HERO’s “The Juice” was also featured in an episode of HBO’s Insecure, where it was so well received that they wrote him into the script — calling him “the black Daft Punk.”
Fully written, produced and sung by HERO, the Dirty Work EP follows a storyline of an emotionally self-destructive character slowly building to the realization of perpetual pain. Dirty Work might be Fool’s Gold Records’ most cinematic release to date, and the sound of an auspicious new artist merging his influences into one singular vision. HERO’s new collection features six self-produced tracks exploring the underbelly of romance over a darkly catchy, electronic pulse.
