Song Premiere: Good Luck Year, "Mysteries"
Good Luck Year is a six-piece, Dayton, OH based indie-pop band whose members, ranging in ages from 17 through 36, are:
Good Luck Year’s music is focused on melody and uses Matt Shetler and Tesia Mallory’s male/female harmonies, a mix of acoustic, electric and electronic instrumentation and pop sensible song structures to engage listeners in ways they maybe haven’t been since the ’90s.
Since the band’s first show at Canal Public House (formerly Canal Street Tavern) in June of 2014, they have balanced their family and working lives, including expanding families, new homes, new jobs, and high school graduation, while managing to play several shows at popular Dayton venues like Blind Bob’s, Canal Public House and Oddbody’s. Additionally, the band has played a live set on local NPR station WYSO’s “Kaleidoscope” program, as well as, Tesia and Matt playing live during WDTN, Channel 2’s midday news Program “Living Dayton”.
Good Luck Year released their first, six-song, self-titled EP at a local show in January of 2015. The EP was self-recorded and self-produced in Shetler’s home studio, Ready Shet Go Studio. The album is also available for streaming and download from goodluckyear.bandcamp.com
