Americana has become a mainstream staple in music and for the most part, the sound has been watered down throughout the years by corporate America. Fortunately, many live on the fringes and either doesn’t accept what passes as the music of the genre itself or they find themselves ignored because the aesthetic doesn’t fit within economic pretenses. Edward and Jane though, they’re cut from a different cloth.
Made up of Emilie “Jane” Creutzinger’s tender vocals, as well as her husband Timothy “Edward” Carpenter, who both co-fronts the band together, they’re set to release a new album on 9/28/18. Today Edward and Jane premiere the new single of the album entitled “More,” a beautifully crafted number which at moments is reminiscent of great songwriting by Burt Bacharach with a gospel edge, and glorious craftmanship the band pieces together here. Strings surrounded by a lovely piano with Jane’s beautiful voice over it all is an emotional masterpiece.
