In December of 2020 saw the release of Tomorrows II, the second installment or volume of Son Lux’s long-format album which followed the August release of Tomorrows I. If the group isn’t challenging enough, Tomorrows doesn’t reach for the moon, instead, shooting past it in hopes of undiscovered stars.
The trio – Ryan Lott, Rafiq Bhatia, and Ian Chang – announce the release of Tomorrows III (City Slang), the final piece of the group’s ambitious release. The album is set to drop on April 16, 2021, and in anticipation of the release, Son Lux shares the first single off the album, the Xiu Xiu-esque “A Different Kind of Love.”
Tomorrows is a marker of the times we’re living, with Son Lux training their sights on volatile societal principles: imbalance, disruption, collision, redefinition, all while collaborating with a culturally rich cross-section of artists and styles while doing so. Distilling their musical influences, Son Lux searches for equilibrium of raw emotional intimacy and meticulous art-driven musical constructions.
