The Savannah Stopover Music Festival has announced the full confirmed lineup of artists who will be playing at the sixth annual incarnation of the festival, adding 50 bands to the previously announced talent list. The festival focuses on rising talent, and takes place March 10-12 throughout multiple venues in Savannah’s beautiful downtown Historic District.
Taking place the weekend before SXSW, the lineup features notable up and comers including Porches, Alex G, Diet Cig, PWR BTTM, Mothers, Mass Gothic, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, White Reaper, All Dogs, Twin Limb and many more. Early Bird tickets are now sold out, but General Admission and VIP three-day passes are still available, along with two-day weekend passes (Friday and Saturday) and individual single day passes (all tickets can be found here).
As part of the lineup on Saturday, March 12, the festival will host an all day record label showcase featuring two Savannah-based record labels, Graveface Records and Furious Hooves Records, along with Noisy Ghost PR. The festival will also host between 3-5 secret shows, spread across the weekend. Talent for the shows will be announced one hour prior to the performance via Twitter.
Nearly 100 bands from across the country and around the world have been selected to perform at this year’s festival, including 12 local Savannah bands to represent the city’s growing music scene. Those artists include Triathalon, Jeff Zagers, Breakers, Curbdogs, Sunglow, Culture Vulture, Twisty Cats, Miquel Moure, COEDS, Sundial Kings and Street Clothes.
Savannah Stopover continues to nurture up and coming acts across a wide variety of genres, most of whom are headed to Austin, TX for the SXSW. Stopover has always focused on top emerging talent and has proved to be early festival tastemakers, having booked artists like Grimes, The War On Drugs, Future Islands, Mac Demarco, St. Lucia, Hurray For The Riff Raff, DIIV, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and hundreds more before they broke out of the pack.
Also new for 2016, Stopover is kicking off an Ambassadors Program, a new marketing platform in conjunction with The Physical Network, for fans to sell tickets and earn reward points; good toward free festival passes and other perks (more info is available here). Band bios, videos and streaming music for all confirmed bands and more info is available at savannahstopover.com. A Savannah Stopover playlist highlighting all bands performing in 2016 is available on SoundCloud and Spotify.
