Magnet School share "So Long To Heaven"

Austin’s Magnet School are excited to share their new single “So Long To The Heaven.” The song comes from the band’s upcoming sophomore album The Art of Telling The Truth, due out January 29 via Shifting Sounds and Sunshine HQ.

With a distinct sonic style that stands alone in a sea of underground music, Magnet School’s unique tunings and approach to songwriting have earned them a place among Texas’ elite shoegaze bands. Having previously released an EP, the band’s debut, and a 7-inch to great responses, Magnet School have earned attention and credibility throughout the alternative indie rock, dream pop, and shoegaze communities. Magnet School first emerged back in 2007 and were quickly named as a “Buzzcatcher” band by Spin Magazine as they released their debut album “Tonight We Drink… Tomorrow We Battle The Evil at Hand,” earning comparisons to Secret Machines and Dinosaur Jr. In the year’s since the band have played throughout the South and the UK including shows in London, Sheffield, and Liverpool as part of Will Sergeant’s (Echo & The Bunneymen) “FRICTION Presents” where they made an instant impression. The band followed their debut with “The Sitch,” a 7-inch single released in the UK in conjunction with the Midem Festival in Cannes, France. Winning over fans with their energetic, layered wall of sound live shows, Magnet School have shared the stage with such diverse bands as …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, The Life and Times, Future of the Left, Ume, Ultimate Fakebook, Shiner, and I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness.   Magnet School have recently recorded & mastered their new full length album The Art of Telling the Truth scheduled to be released January 29, 2016. With the revival of the alt rock & shoegaze scenes, there couldn’t be a better time for this album to drop – it’s assured to blow open doors and minds.
