| M.I.A. – Kala (Interscope) Exciting, entertaining, interesting, appealing, and one of a kind. This album is pure jungle genius. |
| Radiohead – In Rainbows (Self-released) One of those albums that I can listen to over and over and still love it. Thom Yorke has done it again. |
| Feist – The Reminder (Interscope) The Reminder makes me feel like I’m snuggling next to a fireplace on a bearskin rug. Warm, fuzzy, but not sickeningly sweet. |
| Broken Social Scene presents Kevin Drew – Spirit if… (Arts & Crafts) Broken Social Scene kicks ass forever in my book and I’m not ashamed to say it. Yet another album filled with creative riffs, controversial lyrics, and cool arts&crafts cameos. |
| Deerhunter – Cryptograms (Kranky) As much as I hate Bradford Cox’s obnoxious demeanor, Cryptograms is fucking amazing so I will allow it. It’s like being transported to the world of noisy gothic teenage angst that parents will never understand. |
| Justice – † (Ed Banger / Because / Vice) Great dance music without sounding like it was created by a machine. France can do no wrong. |
| Devendra Banhart – Smokey Rolls down Thunder Canyon (XL Recordings) I love the old-timey folk feel to his songs. That, mixed with his insanity and inappropriate behavior, creates something magical. |
| Tegan and Sara – The Con (Vapor) The Con has honest lyrics, catchy melodies, and tells a story. A great album to sing along to. |
| Panda Bear – Person Pitch (Paw Tracks) This album just makes people feel good. A great, happy, and unique album. |
| Cass McCombs – Dropping the Writ (Domino) This album is like a dreamy, rolling field filled with dandelions and woodland creatures. Lovely. |
| Black Lips – Good Bad Not Evil (Vice) Black Lips are a dirty and disgusting garage band made for perverted shitheads and rude indie kids. But for some reason, I like it. |
| Muscles – Guns Babes Lemonade (Modular) You can tell this guy loves his life. I just want to hold his hand and dance forever. |
| The Field – From Here We Go Sublime (Kompakt) Seriously trance-inducing sounds combined with the warmth and comfort of familiarity. It’s like floating through clouds. |
| Chromatics – Night Drive (Italians Do It Better) They seem to be going for the whole glamour and mystery of Italian nightlife. It’s like a murder mystery where the bad guys are too sexy to hate. |
| Deerhoof – Friend Opportunity (5RC) Cute and quirky, this album is definitely their best to date. Perfect for the hyperactive child in me. |
