LAPÊCHE Share Single “Oliver”

There’s something quite enticing regarding the evocative music the Brooklyn-based LAPÊCHE offers up. Made up of singer/guitarist Krista Diem, her husband/bassist David Diem, guitarist Drew DeMaio, and drummer Jeff Gensterblum, they all share a commonality and likemindedness that’s projected within the band’s sound. The band shares the single “Oliver,” which is off the band’s sophomore release Blood in the Water (New Granada Records) set for release April 9, 2021. The album was co-produced by J. Robbins (Jawbox).

Blood in the Water walks the line between nature and nurture, objective reality and subjective perspective, joy and pain, suffering and hope, and addiction and sobriety.

About the song, the band states: ” “Oliver” is about the pain of losing a wanted pregnancy, & facing that loss. “Half baked, half right, half sick, half-light, half-closed, half cry, half yours and half mine” turns from a sequence of events into a rallying call as voices join hers, a reminder of who’s around us even in our darkest moments.”
