King Ropes is a Montana-based Psychedelic Americana band. Sort of. Or Indie Desert Rock? Maybe ramshackle psychedelic Americana noise pop. Like Montana, this music is full of contradictions, open spaces, and jagged edges, breathtaking beauty tempered by a harsh underbelly.
You can imagine or reimagine some of your favorite indie rock artists of the recent past hanging with Willie Nelson as he introduces King Ropes to mushrooms. The band has just released its latest single “Radio Jane,” a shambly rocker on the verge of falling apart, but never does, which is off the band’s upcoming full-length album, Idaho.
