GLOSSER Shares Cathartic Dream-Pop With “Movies”

In 2023, patrons of pop GLOSSER return to cast their neon glow on the world with a new album –  DOWNER. Born from beyond the comfort zone, Riley Fanning (she/her) and Corbin Sheehan (he/his) elevate their shimmering aesthetics into a gleaming new form. Forged by the musical intimacy of two in Washington D.C., GLOSSER has developed a dimensional sound rooted in reflective pop that stands on the shoulders of greats. The pair (led by Fanning’s voice and mind), sought to condense their lighter-than-air sound into something worthy of the dance floor. Inspired by the likes of Phantogram, Lorde, and Beach House, the new record combines worlds, creating a dreamscape injected with visceral truth.

“Disco Girls” was the first single for the album, accompanied by a video that captures the GLOSSER vibe and gauzy sounds rooted in reflective pop that can be found throughout the upcoming album. Today the duo releases a new single “Movies,” which features an epic while also showcasing Riley’s vocals, capped off with a cathartic mood to its cascading chorus.

“‘Movies’ is very much about getting lost in memory, and being unable to move on from anything,” Fanning says. “The moments you keep envisioning and replaying over and over again.”
