G Flip (Georgia Flipo) today shares a new single, “I’D RATHER GO TO BED.” Sonically lush but with melancholic lyrics, the track was penned during a sombre period for G where she found solace in her dreams.
Of the release, G Flip shares: “‘I’d Rather Go To Bed’ is a song I wrote at a very depressive time in my life. It’s about feeling so miserable that you’d rather not get up and face the day and just sleep and live in your dreams. I think a lot of people can relate to that in one way or another given how challenging this year has been. For me personally with COVID restrictions, a 4-year relationship ending, living arrangements up in the air, all my touring postponed and being in a heavy lockdown in Melbourne, it all hit at once and took a toll on me and my mental state. I think despite the fact the song is written about depression, it carries an almost promising tone of anticipation in the peace we all feel when we sleep and specifically dream. When I described the context of the song to my director Prad Sen he fully understood the power possible in a lucid dream, where you can go anywhere and be anyone you want to be. He found an amazing designer h3xmode (Joseph-Paul Silipo) to help bring my dreams to life as my own personal superhero.”
Along with the track, the Melbourne-based multi-hyphenate also shares details of her Crocs collaboration. G Flip has worked with the iconic brand to deliver a technicolour tie dye take on the classic Crocs clog. Overflowing with good vibes, the G Flip X Crocs Classic Clog perfectly complements G’s bold personality. Each pair not only features the unique multicolored print, but also a curated collection of Crocs Jibbitz™ charms, each unique to G Flip and her personal style, and available to purchase now on https://www.crocsaustralia.com.au/g-flip/g-flip.html
Of the collaboration, G says: “Speaking of dreams and manifestation: it’s also pretty fitting that my personal dream of having my own Crocs Collab is dropping on the same day as “I’d Rather Go To Bed.” This is something I’ve been working towards and pushing towards for years and I’m so excited to finally have a custom G FLIP x Crocs design to share with you all!”
