Rising British musician Eaves Wilder shares a new single, “Better Together,” marking her first new music following her debut EP Hookey, released earlier this year on Secretly Canadian. “Better Together” is a testament to Wilder’s playful yet intelligent songwriting, and precedes her debut Glastonbury Festival performance on Saturday, June 24th on the BBC Introducing Stage. Inspired by an interview she watched with Pharrell in which he stated “songs should be an argument,” “Better Together” finds Wilder hopping between the perspectives of two people, one who is skeptical of love and one who is trying to convince them otherwise.
“I became a relationship skeptic after the relationship that inspired my song ‘I Stole Your Jumper’,” Wilder continues. “‘I’m not gonna cut myself in two to be your other half’ was how I viewed them.”
Recording, producing, and releasing her own music since the age of 16, Eaves Wilder is flying through 2023 and becoming one of the UK’s most exciting new prospects. She signed to Secretly Canadian in 2021 at the age of 18 and swapped her bedroom for the studio, earning widespread praise. Her Hookey EP captured the turbulent experience of her teenage years, and the brightness of her future. With a sold out three week residency at London’s The Social, and her first ever support tour with Sir Chloe, she’s building a dedicated following enamored by her effortless charm.
