Chained To The Bottom Of The Ocean Share Punishing Single “An Adornment of Light”

For nine years, Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean have been crafting an ominous and hellbent mix of sludge and doom metal. The Massachusetts-based band last released Sisyphean Cruelty in 2024 and now follow it up with Let Us Not Speak Of Them But Look And Pass On (Redscroll Records) out February 20, 2026. Recorded and mixed by Seth Manchester at Machines with Magnets, the album’s four tracks take the listener on a 28-minute journey through anguished vocals, bludgeoning riffs, and heavy percussion. Improvised passages set the tone, pushing the scale between haunting and uneasy.

Single “An Adornment of Light,” out today, disseminates the band’s depth of sound through seven devastating minutes. Built on revenge, the track rises from conspicuous feedback and cymbals into a guttural vocals and deep-seated guitars. The creeping rhythm breaks into a feverish uproar of blast beats and windy riffs set to test your nervous system.
