BUÑUEL, a literal supergroup of global significance, shares “Fixer,” the second song made available from the upcoming double album Mansuetude (SKiN GRAFT/Overdrive Records) which is set for release on October 25, 2024.
BUÑUEL boasts the singular vocals and razor sharp lyrics of Eugene S. Robinson (ex-Oxbow) and a powerhouse Italian trio comprising guitarist Xabier Iriondo (Afterhours, A Short Apnea), bassist Andrea Lombardini (The Framers) and drummer Franz Valente (Il Teatr Degli Orrori).
“Fixer” features vocals from Megan Osztrosits of Couch Slut. “Following a Breaking Bad trajectory and owing this account largely to a friend of his who had been called The Crystal Meth King of Oklahoma by the FBI, the FIXER follows a drug czar’s Man Friday as he cleans up that which inevitably needs cleaning up when you’re living a life of crime,” shares the band.
According to Megan Osztrosits: “When Eugene hit me up to ask if I wanted to do vocals for a track, I said yes without even hearing it. He rules and I am psyched for this absolute ripper of an album.”
Mansuetude was produced by Timo Ellis, and features additional guests including Jacob Bannon (lead singer of CONVERGE), guitarist Duane Denison (The JESUS LIZARD, TOMAHAWK, The DENISON KIMBALL TRIO), cellist Andrea Beninati and David Binney on alto saxophone and vocals.
“Fixer” follows the August release of lead single, “DRUG BURN” which accompanied the announcement of Mansuetude. According to BUÑUEL: “One of the steadfast rules the Hells Angels used to tout to members was NO DRUG BURNS. Which just goes to show, there really IS honor among, well you know. Following a wayward path to an even more wayward song BUNUEL’s rendering of said BURN will make your ears (and eyes if you’re lucky enough to see the video) burn. Crunchy, melodic and harder than a lot of hardcore, it’s a travelog into places your mom told you to steer clear of.”
