Inventive songstress Angélica Garcia releases a new EP in Echo Eléctrico (Spacebomb). The Richmond, Virginia native shares her new 5-song release filled with haunting layered vocals, utilizing those harmonies to build songs mostly around them. Songs are mostly acapella, richly textured, barely noticing the fact that musical instruments are missing. Voices replace those instruments, which become unnecessary throughout. In fact, the closing “Paloma Negra” remains the only track here utilizing a piano other than just vocals. Echo Eléctrico is quite a unique deep dive instrumentally and culturally, with Garcia singing only in Spanish and falling in love with this EP is easy.
