Patrick Damphier is very dedicated to his music. He recorded this entire album all by himself on a 4-track reel-to-reel machine in his parents’ basement (and there’s a lot of instrumentation and even vocal harmonies on this). In even further DIY fashion, each copy of this album is handmade by Damphier himself (there’s actually a video on YouTube that shows him making one, I shit you not). As for the album itself, it’s pretty stripped down indie-folk that basically sounds like it was made by one guy. Not that it’s bad, it just has that really raw quality that you’d expect. His previous band, Paper Rival, was a much louder band so this is an interesting change. (Guise)
