Southwestern/Central Ohio-based riffmasters Moontemple will release its Earthbound full-length via Sweet Cheetah Records this fall. Moontemple is a musical exploration of classic metal with a heaviness that invokes modern doom and stoner rock. Preview songs from the effort here.

Moontemple has performed at shows and festivals (Ohio Doomed and Stoned Fest, Holler of Doom) in Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and West Virginia supporting a variety of heavy music stalwarts including Castle Rat, Child Bite, Conan, Hawthorne Heights, Horseburner, Legions of Doom (ex-Corrosion of Conformity, Trouble, Pentagram), The Skull, Wailin’ Storms, and Whores.

The band says, “We would like to announce that we have decided to work with Sweet Cheetah Records for the release of physical media at this time. Tim [Anderl] is a longtime friend, someone we trust, and matches our enthusiasm in regards to our music and where we want to go.

“The first release will be the full-length, Earthbound, which will compile most of our digital releases up to now as they were originally meant to be. It is one concept album featuring songs that are all grounded and Earth-themed.

“This will lay the foundation for our second full-length which is near completion called Heavens. Heavens is another concept album about moving beyond Earth, whether it is literal or metaphysical. This is done through use of a combination of cosmic, mythological, theological, and eschatological themes.

“We have no exact timeline for the release of these. but the Earthbound layout is almost ready to send off to print.

“Thank you for engaging us and displaying your appreciation for our craft at every show. We can feel the energy you give us and do our best to reciprocate. We are excited for what is to come.”
