XBYRDX Releases Single “Money (Changes Everything)” Featuring Lydia Loveless

A multi-tasking Paul Revere for the Internet age, a rock ‘n’ roll prophet, comic book superhero, and TikTok voice of conscience rising up against the creeping rot of fascism, XBYRDXis set to release his new album, Anthems For The End Times, due February 13. The album’s second single – originally written and performed by Prince, and later covered by Cindi Lauper – “Money (Changes Everything)” featuring Lydia Loveless, is driven by bright instrumentals and charged vocals, bringing intensity and passion with every note. The single is paired with a first person point of view music video that opens to a candle-lit listening lounge as a record begins to play. From there, the video continues with a walk through town to the bar for a Guinness, and a visit to the record store to sell records and earn some, you guessed it, money.

Anthems for the End Times is made for the current zeitgeist, a voice in the wilderness, a cry for social justice in a world coming apart at the seams, hope for a Union that against all odds… lasts forever. This is where we stand in America in 2025, a nation polarized at its core, striving to keep the promises written by its founding fathers in the Constitution, under the harshest attack on democracy from within in its history. XBYRDX is a voice crying out in the wilderness, hoping to once again resurrect the power of rock to enact social change, to lead us into the future, rather than off the side of a cliff.

In conjunction with the album announcement, XBYRDX previously released the title track from the album along with an accompanying music video. “I’m surrounded by the ash/Of all my dreams that died,” sings XBYRDX on the title track, but Anthems for the End Times offers proof through the night all hope is not lost… that our flag is still here. XBYRDX continues, “I want to get us back to a place where we recognize one another’s humanity,” said the self-described Gen X humanist. “We don’t need a revolution as much as evolution.  We can think our way out of this. We can make ourselves better. People still have the power. It’s up to us to do something positive with that energy. I wanted to do something completely different than I have before, without a safety net.”

Produced by alt-country star Lydia Loveless – using her band, including multi-instrumentalists Todd May and Jay Gasper, as well as drummer Sam Brown – Anthems for the End Times is a completely DIY project by  XBYRDX and recorded at Secret Studio in Loveless’ hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
