Wild Wild Wets releases its fourth album, Time Mutations (Salton Sea Sound System/FUZZ Coffee Roasters) on August 22.

Wild Wild Wets have been a psychedelic staple of the Southern California music scene, with a reputation for bringing dance to the dark side and often projecting trance-like states with tripping visual performances. True ambassadors of San Diego and the counterculture since 2012, Wild Wild Wets have been taking the sounds of the ’60s and acid-washing them through the grit of the ’90s to ring out a modern take on psychedelic rock and roll.

Time Mutations showcases its finest lineup yet, capturing fully live takes in a single room setting with dense arrangements of hi-fidelity stereophonic overdubs creating a panoramic listening experience. Intimate headphone listening will take you to the moon, but full-blast stereo speaker sessions will have you riding high. While Mike Turi (vocals, keys) and Taejon Romanik (guitar, vocals) have always been the creative core of the band, this newest LP brings into focus the additional talents of Dave Mead (Crasher) on drums, Albert Sanchez on bass and the conga, percussion, and trumpet work of Jason Crane (Rocket From the Crypt), elevating the sound to new heights. For all its layered rhythm, hypnotic tone, and story telling sequence, Time Mutations unveils the purest and most exhilarating form of Wild Wild Wets yet captured on record.

Today, the premieres “Disintegrate.” The band reaches the full apex of Time Mutations’ sound with this infectious closer. Turi and Romanik share vocal leads and the rhythm section runs deep into their worldly funk keeping everyone “tied to the wings of the wheel til the end.”

Time Mutations was recorded live at Earthling Studios in El Cajon, California, produced by the band themselves, and engineered, mixed, and mastered by Mike Kamoo. Pressed on limited edition color vinyl variant “Mutation Isle Splatter” (green with orange/yellow bursts), released via Salton Sea Sound System.
