Olivia Belli Shares “Respiro 5”

Intercosmia Vol. 1 is the first of two planned EPs from Italy’s Olivia Belli, following her most recent full-length, Intermundia – released earlier this year – and sees the acclaimed pianist continue her journey in search of essentiality through the rediscovery of one’s spirituality.

While Intermundia explored the spiritual side of nature, beyond the physical – the world of thin places –Intercosmia Vol. 1 focuses more on the introspective, four works that compel the listener to look deeply inward. “I firmly believe that we are first and foremost spiritual beings living a short earthly life, and it is essential to look within to find and fulfill our destiny – the mission for which we are here, whatever it may be,” explains Belli. “The beauty of life lies in the journey we take to rediscover our essence, our unique and original voice that we must take care of, and which will cross the threshold of time.”

Out today is the new track “Respiro 5” which is a more somber listen and altogether quieter, with individual piano notes twinkling like stars throughout.

‘Alma Venus’ sees a violin carry much of the plaintive melody, which gently ebbs and flows with a sense of optimism, before ‘Solomeo’ brings a more triumphant, hopeful feeling, Belli’s intricate piano lines scanning like the first bursts of sunshine on a spring day.

Reflecting on these very deliberate moods and feelings, Belli says: “Each of us has always had rites, situations, and places where it is easier to dedicate ourselves to introspection and spirituality. Intercosmia Vol. 1 wants to be a source of inspiration to accompany those who are following the same path of spiritual growth and search for the beyond.”

Intercosmia Vol. 1 will be released on November 8 and will be preceded by three singles. Olivia Belli is also due to embark on a seven-date European tour throughout October and November: the full list of dates is below.
