Cillë Shares New Single “Champagne”

Cillë aka Cecilie Maria Nielsen has released her newest single, “Champagne!” which wraps a celebration of female friendship into a playful, danceable pop track with funk, glam rock, and electro pop influences. The Danish-born, NYC-based singer-songwriter continues to elude being squeezed into any one genre, with her myriad of influences put proudly on display for all to see.

Like all the songs before it, “Champagne!” Cillë’s fourth single since her April 2022 solo debut, showcases a new side of its creator. “Good songs transcend genre,” Cillë says, “It’s important to me that I honor the song, even when it means redefining myself as an artist. As I keep releasing—and there’s more coming—I trust that it will all eventually make sense. I’m done holding back!”

“Champagne!” was produced by acclaimed NYC producer, recording artist, and multi-instrumentalist Kelsey Warren of Blak Emoji who undoubtedly put his electro pop stamp on the collaboration.

Cecilie Maria Nielsen aka Cillë is a singer-songwriter based in New York City. Raised in rural Denmark, Cillë is on a mission to make sense of life through her own brand of flamboyant songwriting. After a decade playing in various rock bands, Cillë released her solo debut, the bold and infectious glam rock song “Kill or Be Killed,” in April 2022. She followed up with “Mom, Am I From Outer Space?” which delicately yet dramatically tells her story of feeling like the odd one out and “Lizzie,” which Cillë describes as an ode to her 17 year-old self.

Before going solo, Cillë was the lead singer, bass player, and (topliner) songwriter of the all-female rock band Taras from 2012 to 2016. Taras released one EP and two double-singles; performed at several large scale arena shows including Ballerup Super Arena in 2014; saw commercial radio airplay on MyRock by SBS Discovery; garnered high-profile press from outlets such as B.T. and Gaffa; and made numerous TV appearances including popular lifestyle show ‘So ****ing Special’ on Denmark’s largest television network, Danmarks Radio (DR).
