The Toronto-based four-piece Kiwi Jr. marks its return with a new video for the single “Undecided Voters.” The band has announced its signing to the indie stalwarts Sub Pop who will release Kiwi Jr.’s next album in the coming year. The release follows the 2019 brash poppiness of Football Money, one of the year’s standout releases.
Of the new video, it was shot live on location at a candidates debate between two horse jockeys in a church basement, the “Undecided Voters” video plays with the absurdity of elections as sport and entertainment. Kiwi Jr. provides the soundtrack to the sordid affair, while local news reporters stalk the perimeter trying to piece together the scene inside. It’s clever, tongue-in-cheek, and mirrors a modern-day farcical world we all live in.
