Toronto native Colombian-Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez releases a surprise deluxe version of her critically acclaimed debut album Before Love Came To Kill Us. The original version of the album, which was released Friday, March 27 included previously released tracks “Ankles,” “Imported” ft. 6lack, her platinum smash “Figures,’ and a new standout track “Coffin” ft. Grammy award-winning Detroit artist Eminem who was quoted in The New York Times on Jessie stating, “She doesn’t sound like anybody. Her style of singing, the way she enunciates her words and everything, she’s just naturally dope. It seems like she’s not even trying, and she’s that good. Her voice and her cadences don’t sound like anybody I had ever heard before.” The deluxe version of the project includes three new tracks and features from A-Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, JID, Rico Nasty and Melii.
Along with the release of the deluxe album today, VIBE VIVA unveiled Jessie as their latest cover star donning her as “The People’s Pop Star.” Reyez is featured on the cover against a mosaic of Instagram live conversations that she’s had with her beloved fans and supporters across the globe over the years As a source of entertainment to those fans who are staying home safely and to help raise funds for those in need amid the Covid-19 global pandemic, Jessie partnered with her friends at Jameson Irish Whiskey to host a virtual album release live stream performance via YouTube Live last night. This is the perfect partnership as Jameson kicks off the “Jameson Connects: The Stay Inn” series as a communal space to connect through culture, craic, and curated content. She also called fans to action to donate to charities such as Together Rising, Feeding America, United Way Canada, and MusiCares.
