In many ways, the audacious garage band Baby Shakes are the rare few that continue to wave the colors of the gritty punk bands that captured the hearts of many back in the early days. Another impressive part of their resume includes the over a decade run of shenanigans with the Black Lips, Iggy Pop, the Boys, the Undertones, Buzzcocks, Barracudas, Protex, the Romantics, Paul Collin’s Beat, Shadows of Knight, Derv Gordon, among others.
Baby Shakes are set to release their new album Cause a Scene this Friday, September 20. In support of the big day, the band has shared the video for the album’s title track. Inspired by the campy-Godzilla videos, the band towers over the city rocking out and giving the citizens something to dance along to. “This song is about doing what you love & sticking with it…not giving a damn what people say, having fun, playing music, going on tour and causing a scene around the world,” vocalist/guitarist Mary Blount says.
