The past twenty years for Justin Sullivan have mostly consisted of living on the road as a touring drummer; many nights were spent playing in DIY establishments all around the world. Being a part of such bands like the Babies, Ringers, and an early incarnation of Worries, Sullivan also has formed bands like Flat Worms over the span of sixteen plus years.
Sullivan has now focused his attention on his solo project Night Shop, which on September 14 his debut album In The Break will be released on Woodsist/Mare Records. Already released two singles, “The Ship Has Sailed” and “The One I Love”, Night Shop has released the third single off the album “My Love”. The single also is accompanied by a Kevin Gossett-directed video that was filmed at the Vineland Drive-In Theater in the City of Industry, California. The video also includes personal footage that was shot by Sullivan while on his time on tour.
For those who aren’t familiar with Sullivan, let “My Love” be a great start. The romantic-themed single will sweep you off your feet.
Night Shop will be kicking off a tour with Waxahatchee and Anna St. Louis next week, followed by a hometown release show at LA’s Permanent Records in Highland Park and a month of October dates with his Mare Records labelmate Shannon Lay:
