This week, J. Roddy Walston and the Business hit the road in support of their fourth studio album, Destroyers of the Soft Life, released in fall 2017 via ATO Records.
Destroyers of the Soft Life is full of melodic songwriting with sharp observations about American culture.During the recording, Walston became a father for the first time, inspiring lyrics that take an unflinching look at family dynamics and parental motivations.
The album is co-produced by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Built To Spill, Father John Misty.) Destroyers of the Soft Life brings a brighter, more nuanced sound that teased out the band’s latent pop sensibilities without skimping on energy or attitude.
The ‘Destroyers of the Soft Live’ tour starts on Friday in Boston with stops in Philly, Chicago, Cleveland, NYC, Tempe, Pittsburgh and more with a mid-run jaunt to Punta Cana for My Morning Jacket’s One Big Holiday and ending at Bottlerock in Napa.
