The LA dark-pop band Holy Wars shares their new video “Warrior” off the E.P. Mother, which is beast of a release. Now while the female-fronted group draws comparisons to Siouxsie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Suicide, “Warrior” is a song for those who feel like the underdog that showcases the group’s own identity.
In the video, The Warrior (Elijah Potruch) was the alter ego of the bullied (CW Mead), much like Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club, where the lines between reality and fiction become blurred. To balance the dark nature of the song, Leon envisioned this battle to be between kids that could’ve been straight from the movies ‘The Sandlot’ and ‘Stand by Me,’ ending with a battle in this altered reality of confetti blood and soccer ball mace.
