Robyn Hitchcock readies new studio album, tours (2017)
Yep Roc recording artist Robyn Hitchcock continues to celebrate the upcoming release of his self-titled new album. The new studio recording and first-ever eponymous release of the legendary British artist’s four-decade career, ROBYN HITCHCOCK arrives everywhere on Friday, April 21.
Hailed as “the psych maverick’s loudest, liveliest album in decades,” ROBYN HITCHCOCK is available now for pre-order on CD and LP at the official Yep Roc Store, with all pre-orders accompanied by instant grat downloads of the metamorphic first single, “I Want To Tell You About What I Want,” as well as the album highlight, “Mad Shelley’s Letterbox.”

Hitchcock made multiple performances at South By Southwest (SXSW) in 2017, where he was also honored with SXSW’s 2017 Grulke Prize for “Career Act.” The award, now in its fifth year, was developed in honor of SXSW Creative Director Brent Grulke, who passed away in August 2012.The Career Act Prize is awarded annually to an established artist who has appeared at SXSW to reinvent themselves or launch a new project.
Hitchcock will embark on a wide-ranging U.S. tour highlighted by headline dates across the country including a rare Los Angeles-area full-band show set for West Hollywood’s historic Troubadour on May 3.
In addition, Hitchcock will join forces with The Psychedelic Furs for a classic double bill traveling through mid-April. A number of festival appearances are also scheduled, including, Huichica Music Festival (June 9) and Pickathon 2017 (August 3-6).
