From Portland, Oregon, Eight Bells consists of guitarist/vocalist Melynda Jackson, formerly of SubArachnoid Space, bassist/vocalist Haley Westeiner, and new drummer Rae Amitay, also of Immortal Bird and Thrawsunblat. Sophomore album Landless was recorded and mixed by Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Leviathan) and mastered by Justin Weis (Pallbearer, Agalloch). Ethereal vocals, soaring guitars, and ghostly ambience evoke ’70s prog-rock grandeur and Victorian mystery; blastbeats and screams bring the music into a modern, blackened realm.
Eight Bells embarks on a U.S. tour in late January, including three weeks supporting the legendary Voivod.
