Little May are releasing their debut self titled EP next week on Capitol Records. You can hear it right now over at Stereogum who note, “The band’s dark-tinged folk-rock has definite pop appeal – breathy vocal harmonies, hooky guitars, and sweeping arrangements abound. There’s a cinematic beauty to this music, even within the limited scope of an EP. The results are like First Aid Kit with a splash of Haim’s swagger.”
The Sydney band’s songs are emotionally charged, intimate and lyrical and their music is an entirely original take on folk with blues and indie influences that saw music writers invent the term “ghost folk.”
Their singles “Boardwalks,” “Hide” and “Dust” soon soared to the top spots of Hype Machine garnering over a million Soundcloud plays, a global audience and critics hailing the trio as the ‘next great storytellers’ and ‘Australian artist to watch’.
