Birmingham four-piece JAWS, a barely legal bunch of college friends, is a direct product of bands like The Cure, New Order and Joy Division, but manage to put a modern, vigorous edge on the sound, drawing inspiration from a variety of different bands like Title Fight, Foals and Surfer Blood. Since first forming in 2012, JAWS has released several singles and an EP, all creating a buzz so undeniable that it’s even begun to spread to the United States. This fall, SideOneDummy Records will help with that by releasing the band’s debut album, Be Slowly, digitally on September 16.
This debut full length follows a year which has seen JAWS release the Milkshake EP and “Gold” single – both of which were met with praise and sparked huge anticipation from fans and critics as to the young bands exciting evolution. 2014 has seen them step further – “Think Too Much, Feel Too Little” received huge support from BBC Radio 1 and went straight into the Top 10 in the iTunes Alternative chart. All the while, the band have continued to relentlessly tour their well-established live show – gathering more and more fans as they go. This September, the band will embark on their biggest UK headlining tour to date in support of Be Slowly.
